We’ve all had an experience in our life that we wish had gone differently.  The missed opportunity for a first kiss; the last chance to say goodbye we never had; the perfectly witty breakup speech they never heard; the epic coming out moment that didn’t happen.  What if we had had the chance to do it over?  This is Retake - the show that takes moments big and small from our past and reimagines them as scenes in a Hollywood movie.

 

This genre-bending new series will give people the unique opportunity to “retake” a moment from their past by recreating a new version of that moment as the scene in a movie.  Through immersive, doc-style shooting, we’ll follow behind-the-scenes as our hero partners with professionals from film and TV – a director, writer, producer and film crew – who lend their experience and help bring this cinematic moment to life.

 

Each episode features one person’s journey culminating in the shoot day that brings their retake moment to life on screen.  Every step of the filmmaking process is an opportunity for us to delve deeper into the backstory and drama of this moment and the profound effect it has had on the life of our hero.  The diversity of our heroes and their chosen moments shapes episodes that are not only thought-provoking and inspiring, but also funny and lighthearted.  Above all, we are telling stories of authentic, relatable characters on a cathartic journey of healing and transformation.

 

In each episode of this series someone is given the chance to not only look back on a moment in their life and reflect on how it could be different – but they are given the chance to change the course of their future.  And this means that everything for them is at stake.  When we free ourselves of the old stories that have shaped our lives, relationships, decisions, and outlook on life – we open ourselves to the endless possibility of something new.
