Subaru needed help in highlighting their efforts celebrating and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community so they came to us looking for a way to share those stories with our audiences. Each June during Pride month we have selected a Subaru Retailer somewhere in the country and shown a spotlight on the work they are doing. Whether it's the story of a transgender woman in rural Oregon looking for a community of support, or a homeless LGBTQIA+ youth in Salt Lake City who has been kicked out of their home by bigoted parents - these stories reflect the struggle and the triumph of the LGBTQIA+ community and the power of Subaru's Love Promise to support those in need.
In 2020 the challenge was to show how Pride would not be cancelled - even in the face of a global pandemic. Working in an entirely remote way we shipped cameras, directed over Zoom and created a meaningful piece of content without ever coming into contact with any of the people featured in the story. Most recently we highlighted a partnership that Subaru has with the National Park Service to help make the outdoors a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people.
